Je suis historien et écrivain qui se concentre sur raconter des histoires des interactions interculturelles au monde atlantique pendant le XVIe siècle
Je suis candidat doctoral à l’Université de Binghamton, SUNY, en l’état de New-York. Ma recherche se concentre sur comment les observations européens du paresseux à crinière au sud (Bradypus crinitus) et de la bois du Brésil (Paubrasilia echinata) s’ont diversifiés la vision scientifique du monde européen et après ça ces nouvelles observations ont forcées des écrivains à réexaminer comment ils ont compris leur monde. J’ai obtenu ma maîtrise (MA) en l’histoire à l’Université du Missouri à Kansas City (2019) et ma maîtrise (MA) aux relations internationales et politiques démocratiques à l’Université de Westminster (2016), et mon diplôme universitaire (BA) en l’histoire et la théologie à l’Université de Rockhurst (2015).
Je suis fasciné comment l’humanité a regardée la reste de la nature, et ensuite comment le monde naturel a laissé une grande impression sur le nôtre. Je m’efforce toujours à sortir mon travail à l’attention du publique, et je veux raconter des histoires, invite des gens à penser, et leur rends heureux.
J’étudie et écris sur l’histoire atlantique dans le XVIe siècle, avec des influences fortes sur l’histoire de l’environnement, l’humanisme de la renaissance, et la colonialisme. Plus que tout, je suis fasciné comment ces disparates sujets se croisent et tissent une complexe tapisserie à travers qui nous pouvons comprendre comment les récits des voyageurs sur les Amériques sont en accord avec le monde européen dans ils ont écrits. Je suis aussi romancier, et j’ai auto-publié trois livres à ce jour, Travels in Time Across Europe (2017), The Adventures of Horatio Woosencraft and Other Stories (2017), et Erasmus Plumwood (2018).
Je suis né aux banlieues de Chicago, mais j’ai grandis sur un ferme à Kansas City, Kansas. Depuis une très jeune âge, je s’aimais apprendre sur l’histoire, ainsi que je visitais les musées des beaux arts et les musées de l’histoire naturelle et les parcs zoologiques. Ces années récentes, je travaillais réunir mes différents intérêts au sujet pour ma recherche qui inclue toutes les choses qui me fascinait.
J’ai obtenu mon diplôme universitaire en l’histoire et la théologie avec des matières secondaires en la philosophie et au français à l’Université de Rockhurst avant j’ai déménagé à Londres pour ma maîtrise aux relations internationales et politiques démocratiques à l’Université de Westminster. Après un an quand j’ai consideréré ce qui j’ai voulu faire, j’ai rendis au mon domaine original d’histoire à l’Université du Missouri à Kansas City, où j’ai obtenu ma maîtrise au ce sujet. Aujourd’hui, je suis étudiant doctoral en l’histoire à l’Université de Binghamton en l’état de New-York.
Quand je ne travaille pas sur ma recherche ou sur mes écrits, j’aime beaucoup à voyager. Un des avantages de travailler ici à Binghamton est que je suis très central aux beaucoup des grandes-villes et des musées de l’est des États-Unis et du Canada et en l’Europe.
